Abstract This paper develops reliability acceptance sampling plans under Binomial, Poisson, and Bivariate Poisson frameworks, assuming lifetimes follow an Exponentiated Gumbel distribution. The proposed plans support effective lot acceptance and rejection decisions, particularly when complete life testing is impractical. Sampling schemes are constructed for various acceptance numbers, confidence levels, and test duration ratios, and the minimum sample size is determined to satisfy specified reliability requirements. Monte Carlo simulation is employed to generate lifetime data and evaluate the performance of the proposed plans in terms of operating characteristic values and associated risk measures. The results demonstrate reduced inspection effort and testing time while maintaining controlled producer’s and consumer’s risks. In addition, the methodology is discussed within a broader data-driven and Industry 4.0 setting, highlighting its potential role in supporting modern industrial quality control and supply chain decision processes.
